  Huge fan of BMQ! They serve several options on their menu that you may not be so used to seeing- but make sure that you try it!! I'm a huge fan of their Hot pots.... it's normally what I order. What's even more fun with friends is wrapping your own spring rolls!! Everything I've had so far is pretty tasty... their morning glory with garlic could use more flavor but it's still a plus considering that restaurants don't normally care this veggie.
  
  Parking is a bit tough, as all of Chinatown seems to be but if you come after market hours and before dinner time rush then you should be very okay with parking! Service here is not especially fast so make sure that you have ample amount of time to eat and enjoy with friends.

  This is my first time here with a group of friends!
  Grilled Cat Fish was very delicious - crispy from the outside and tender on the inside
  Grilled Mussels was so yummy
  I will definitely come back...maybe every week for the grilled cat fish

  A la carte salty shrimp - yay! So much goodness! Dropped in here to pick up some tasty shrimp - parking was nowhere to be found so I double parked behind another lady who had double parked as well. I went inside to pickup my order but it wasn't ready yet - I guess this dish takes longer to make. The lady who was parked in front of me got her order, paid, and left so I began to get worried about my double parked car. Luckily I got to it before the police car driving up the street. I was able to move it to an actual parking spot this time and then walked back to get my food.
  
  The food was definitely worth the wait! This shrimp was so tasty I could have it for dinner every night. The flavors were so good and I actually ate the first half of the shrimp with outer shell on. Later I got sick of all the tough shell and actually peeled the shrimp. This was just as good and full of flavor. Mmm just thinking about this dish makes me crave it. Highly recommend!

  Came down here with my amazing husband and ended up loving the place! The food is amazing, authentic, and very delicious!
  I ordered the sautéed morning glory, seafood porridge, quails, and my husband order the clay pot combination... my goodness it's sooo good!! Servers are very friendly! I will come here again in a heart beat!! Kudos to everyone that works here!

  Over the last 10 years this place has transformed itself into a modern Vietnamese eatery and no longer the hole-in-wall place with better service. Their menu has also been through a revamp along with their prices which is average for the ever-changing Downtown Oakland.
  
  I've tried their soups, bun, rice plates, and appetizers and unfortunately the vermicelli/noodle soups are not my fave (the few times I've tried) and mainly enjoy their rice plates, bun and appetizers.
  
  These are my usual go-to items:
  
  * #17 STUFFED CHICKEN WING (2)  accompanied with pickled cabbage/carrots - wings stuffed with ground chicken, carrots, cabbage - sure its an appetizer but add a side of rice makes a yummy meal
  
  * #11 BMQ TASTE - sample of shrimp rolls, Jícama rolls, spring rolls, stuffed chicken wing and a tofu/cabbage salad with carrots and fresh mint - a lot of texture and freshness with this dish - enough for 2. Lighter fare
  
  * #74 CUBED BEEF with onion rice plate - tender beef accompanied with a lemon and pepper dipping - delicious
  * #77 EGGPLANT rice plate - slightly sweet and spicy with their house sauce
  
  If you're looking for delicious food and not sure what to get, try some of these items. I would definitely try their vermicelli noodle soups and decide for yourself...just a preference since I have my faves in the area.
